Phoenix has an exciting update! Today he officially moved into his foster home and is settling in nicely. To celebrate his first day, he even got to enjoy his very first pup cup, which he absolutely loved.

After everything he’s been through, it’s wonderful to see him experiencing the simple joys of being a dog. Phoenix is continuing to gain strength and confidence each day, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has been cheering him on and supporting his journey. We are also happy to report that he has now gained 7lbs!

Today Phoenix is all tail wags and happy energy. Since being rescued and cared for by the vet clinic, Phoenix has already gained about 5 pounds, which is a wonderful sign of progress. With good food, medical care, and lots of attention, he’s starting to look and feel like a completely different dog.

Thank you all for caring for him and helping him get to this point. It truly means the world.

Phoenix is now seeking a foster-to-adopt family who can care for him while we continue covering his medical needs and help him get fully healthy and ready for adoption. With the right home and continued care, he has such a bright future ahead.

Our boy is a trooper.

Phoenix is happy, hungry, and getting stronger every single day. He has officially gained 4 pounds! After everything his body has endured, that number feels like a miracle.

He’s now eating 5–6 small meals a day and doesn’t miss one. In fact, he gets excited when it’s time to eat. He’s also starting to show his playful side and is loving his toys,  something we weren’t sure we’d get to see so soon.

Every pound gained, every meal finished, every little tail wag is proof that he’s fighting hard and healing.

Today was a big day for Phoenix.

He got a comfy bed of his very own and was able to enjoy some fresh air. After everything he’s endured, seeing him resting on something soft and feeling the breeze on his face was incredibly special.

These may seem like small things, a bed, a few quiet moments outside,  but for Phoenix, they represent comfort, dignity, and the beginning of healing. Not long ago, he was alone and fighting for his life. Today, he is safe, cared for, and surrounded by love.

He’s still gaining strength each day, and moments like this remind us just how far he’s already come.

Thank you for making this possible. Because of your support, Phoenix isn’t just surviving,  he’s finally experiencing what it feels like to be cared for.

We’ll continue to share updates as he grows stronger. 

We have another incredible milestone to share… Phoenix is now walking a little.

Just days ago, he could barely lift his head. Now, he’s taking small, unsteady steps on his own. They may not be strong or steady yet, but they are determined, and that determination says everything. Phoenix will need to stay at the vet clinic for 24/7 monitoring for another 5-7 days. 

Every step is proof that his body is fighting to heal. Every movement is a reminder that hope is winning.

Yesterday, Phoenix was found alone in a wooded area, barely holding on to life.

Phoenix is a 2-year-old pittie mix, but he weighs only 15 pounds. A dog his age and size should weigh at least 40–50 pounds. What you see in these photos is not just thinness, it’s starvation, neglect, and suffering.

He was rushed to the hospital and immediately admitted in critical condition. Phoenix has been hospitalized around the clock as the medical team fights to save his life. Last night, he required a blood transfusion just to keep going. 

Today, for the first time, Phoenix was able to lift his head.

That small movement may not seem like much, but for a dog who was found at death’s door, it means everything. It means he’s still fighting. It means there is hope.

Phoenix did not deserve this. No dog deserves to be abandoned, starving, and left to die alone. Yet here he is, fragile, exhausted, but still choosing to fight.

We’ve attached photos and invoices so you can see exactly what Phoenix has endured and the medical care it’s taking to keep him alive. His care is intensive, ongoing, and costly, but we will not give up on him.
